Cant use the true internet.

In my college I cant use torrents. Everything is banned. Is there any to way to bypass the proxy and then download whatever I wish to download. Even I cant access my inbox (they have blocked yahoo, gmail and other popular email services) and all the IMs.

Is there any way of using torrents? If I somehow use torrent then can anybody (admin) know what I am downloading?

i suppose u have never done anything else.
my college provides free access to IEEE and other such sites which i consider more important as a college student.

I need the solution man.
Even I use internet for educational purposes but using it for downloading is not bad at all.
Besides that, do you think checking your inbox is not at all important if you are a college student?

Every person has his own needs.For him checking emails and downloading educational stuff is true internet for you its different.

@nucleuskore: Tried and still the torrent clients are not working. limewire, utorrent, azureus, foxtorrent. none of them is working. I tried the last link given by you but for that I need to configure my modem which I absolutely cannot do (Given by college).

Is there any other way for using bittorent clients if one is behind a firewall?

In options of Azureus and uTorrent set the port to port 80, save and restart your torrent client

okay.. i could have started a new thread but to prevent unnecessary clutter im posting things here......

We live in the residential quarters of a hospital.. my dads a doctor...

we have been provided with free 24.7 dial up internet..

of course the drawback is that it is proxied...

i can do everything other than Voice chatting and Video chatting.. that has probably been done to preserve bandwith..

tha PROBLEM is that torrent clients dont like Bittorret don't work..

it would have been possible if they had HTTP Proxy settings... nowwhere did i find a place to put the Proxy and Port...

Know any way i can download off the torrents?

I am already using the IP address and port number that I use in Firefox for browsing the net.
The thing is that utorrent shows the number of peers. It shows the tracker to be working (that is, it does not give any error) but still I do not get any download speed or upload speed.

There are more than 400 peers but I am connected to 0 seeds and 0 leechers.

Boot the computer into safe mode and see if u are able to boot with administrator account if u could do then create a new account with administrator rights, then try to access the websites and i guess you are using a traditional Ethernet connection? if you do then you don need to configure your modem and stuff (IP address etc) it will automatically be configured. Try this!

DUDE inmy college too everything is banned like dwnlin exe files, openin certain websites(u all know wat kinda wesites) and sites like orkut,etc

though email sites r not banned
