Default Dual Boot Woes

I has installed Windows XP on C Drive(250GB). Yesterday I had to get some dll files from vista and I laso had some work so I installed Vista on D drive(80gb).Now,Instead of going through hassles... I loaded XP and right-clicked D drive icon on My Computer and Selected Quick Format option. The problem is, even if vista is not there no more but the boot manager(dual boot) appears during startup(actually before startup) and I have to Select XP. Why is it so?I have even seen the boot.ini of XP,there is nothing wrong nor there is anything written about Vista? Please Help me.

It is because Vista installs it's boot loader or the boot manager in the primary partition that is in the C Drive. U have to delete bootmgr from ur C drive. If u cannot see the file, click Tools> Folder Options in Menu bar.

Then Select View tab and then Hide protected operating system files.
