For information, Its a System short cut, it leads to no Static and specific folder, therfore simply double clicking on it will not take u to any where.....

Why is it there ??

Its there because some time Non Vista comatible Applications will try to store important data to that folder as assuing the OS would have that folder, in case of Vista that system short cut directs that application installer to a proper folder / directory where it can store its data...

So where u can find your data ??

in either at C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming or at C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\ now there look for any directory with the name of ur application, in your case i am not sure iethe with the game name or with its company Capcom name can be found

user refers are user user name !!!

thank you..

By your method i could locate the save file in Vista and see the contents. But im unable to copy and paste the save file from the Windows XP drive. A dialog box opens and tells me that i need permission to continue and only to options are displayed viz., Try again or Cancel

@nvidia8800

It is certainly possible as bydefualt Vista Share doesnt allow access apart from Admins to such folder...

either copy when you are running Vista or, chane the permission settings

Right Click on the Directory or the Drive click properties and go to Security TAB

Now please Click Add

At the next window please click Advance, and then Find now... at this point all possible users would be in front of u, select Everyone and Click OK

Now make sure you have allowed all permissions to user everyone

it should allow to access the directory and its subdirectory from all other OS of the system

You can use any of following:

1. Use it and it'll add an option "Take Ownership" in file/folder context menu. Just select it and you'll hv complete control over the file/folder:

http://www.askvg.com/add-take-owners...windows-vista/

2. This is an application. Just drag-n-drop the file on this app and it'll grant you complete permission on the file:
