Default Formatting Vista


I installed vista ultimate on drive d: I want to format the drive but can't/ I've used the ":\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force" method, but won't work. Plese Help

Are you trying to format the partition while running Vista? You can't format within Windows.

Boot from its Setup DVD and then enter into Recovery Console. Then try to format.

No, I tried to format the drive from Windows. Sorry, I wasn't clear on that one.

Hey VG, BTW where is the recovry console option on Vista DVD. I myself wanted to run Partmgr but cant find it.
