Sound problems with laptop

Hey guyz, I have newly bought a compaq pre.6425 laptop, After all installation i found one big problem that, laptop doesnt automatically turn off its speakers when i connect headphones to it, how can i do that so ?

Look for your Sound configuration software there might be any setting in it for doing this. Even if this prevails then take it to the vendor it is still inWarrenty period.
