Default Merging partions in Vista


Hey Vistas inbuilt partion manager doesn't allows to merge unallocated spaces or merge two partion...
So which vista supported tools shal i use?
and ya it should be free.. Its Urgent...

and also partion magic(installed in XP) creates bad clusters on hard disk...that for sure

paragorn partition manager. I use this for vista.
alternatively u can download hiren's boot CD ( i hope its not frowned upon??) and use it to create/merge partitions using freewares in dos mode.

True, you can not merge partitions in Vista with its Utility. If your 2nd partition is empty, you can delete the 2nd partition and then extend the 1st partition, to use the freed up space. Also note that you can extend only to the right; if you are desirous of extending the partition to the left, you may have to use a 3rd party utility, like Acronis.
