Exclamation Avg Update Error


Windows XP Home Edition(SP2),Internet Explorer-7& Opera-9.22. Airtel GPRS connection. Installed AVG-Free Edition this day. When updating the following error:

AVG UPDATE

An error occured trying to convert to the server. The server name cannot be converted to the IP address.

How to correct it?

Can anyone using AVG-FREE EDITION help me? I use opera-9.22. Is there any settings to to be changed to solve the problem?

That same error would come when you are not connected to internet and you try to update. So i think there is something wrong with your internet. AVG is not able to access internet to update.

I have got Windows XP Home Edition(SP2). Have not gone no reply so far?

Are you using any proxy? If not then the slow speed might be the culprit

No proxy is used. But in the setting on AVG, no check mark is selected by me on Dial Up. Is that the problem or what?

I do Internet through Mobile. Then, what are the settings should be on AVG settings to let it update completely?

If you do not use any proxy then there's no need for any settings changes in AVG. You may try selecting dial-up. However I feel the slow speed might be the problem. Have you tried re-installing AVG or using some other ISP?
