Thank you Asvin
Is there anything which can give me a little bit more options like Hibernate? As shutting down with application running can cause stability problem.

Thank you almighty
Unfortunately there are two softwares sharing the same name:
1. Freeware- seems to be very light in features..rather there is hardly any. It is here: http://www.konradp.com/products/auto_shutdown/
2. Trilaware/Shareware- having quite a number of features, available here: http://www.barefootinc.com/autoshutdown.htm
Please tell me which me which one are you pointing at.
If you are pointing to none of the above, please provide me the link.
Regards

Re: How can I Schedule my PC to Shutdown/Hibernate at a predefined time?
What you need is this I suppose, gary4gar passed it over to me somewhere in Open Source section while discussing about powering up from shut-down state.
http://www.lifsoft.com/
But its paid, though it sounds like a nice buy with unlimited free upgrades.

Once you have created the shortcut..you need to run/execute that shortcut.........After you have run that shortcut, your system will shutdown as per time set in that shortcut.

Re: How can I Schedule my PC to Shutdown/Hibernate at a predefined time?
Oh...now I understand. I did not run.
Regarding Hibernate I could dug the following:
Quote:
POWERCFG[/LIST | /QUERY [name] | /CREATE name | /DELETE name |
/SETACTIVE name | /CHANGE name settings |
/HIBERNATE {ON|OFF} | /EXPORT name [/FILE filename] |
/IMPORT name [/FILE filename] | /GLOBALPOWERFLAG {ON|OFF} /OPTION flag |
/BATTERYALARM {LOW|CRITICAL} [settings] |
/DEVICEQUERY queryflags | /DEVICEENABLEWAKE devicename |
/DEVICEDISABLEWAKE devicename | /?]
Description:
This command line tool enables an administrator to control
the power settings on a system.
Additional
switches specify the changes as follows:
/monitor-timeout-ac
/monitor-timeout-dc
/disk-timeout-ac
/disk-timeout-dc
/standby-timeout-ac
/standby-timeout-dc
/hibernate-timeout-ac
/hibernate-timeout-dc
/processor-throttle-ac
/processor-throttle-dc
AC settings are used when the system is on AC power.
DC settings are used when the system is on battery power.
Setting a timeout to zero will disable the corresponding
timeout feature. Supported throttle settings are NONE
CONSTANT, DEGRADE, and ADAPTIVE.
|
Will you please check whether it is possible to do the same for Hibenation using the above command?
Regards
