Should I upgrade my AV & Firewall?

Hi Guys!

I am presently using Kaspersky Antivirus 6.0.2.614 & Zonealarm Pro Firewall 6.5.700.000. As both KAV & ZA had version 7 floating in the market, do you think it worth upgrading or is it the same thing with a new interface.

What I dont understand is that AV's genrally work with their signatures and obviously I do upgrade and have the latest signatures. They what is the need of upgrading as the new version always hogs more memory. Same is in the case of Firewall.....

And that is a really good question. I don't know the answer to it, and am looking for it myself. Will bookmark this thread, and wait for some of the smarter folks here to answer that.

... the engine ... av engine upgrade is imp too ! so upgrade kav.
reg za, well i'd have upgraded. some prefer za's older version
my genrl opinion, best to always remain up-to-date so upgrade both

Yep! Major Engine upgrade comes with new versions! Engine is most essential. A good engine should know the best way of handling the signatures. I suggest upgrade to the latest version.
