Default HFCL DSL + Vista: Problem

I am having serious problem with my DSL connection...I am using HFCL Connect Broadband at home...the problem started after installing Windows Vista..never had such problems with Windows XP.

I got Intel D945GCCR Motherboard and Installed all the Latest Intel Pro Network Adapter Drivers from intel website.

Problem:

when i enter the details provided by my ISP in Network Connections>>Local Area Connection>>Internet Protocol Version 4 and click Ok. The settings dont get saved.

I enter the settings:

next time i check the settings are not there:

But thats not the problem...the internet works well with automatically obtain ip address option.

But it only works well for 2-3 days then it start giving problems...some of the sites start giving page time out error...then it gets fine automatically after few hours...

then the same problems after some days...many sites dont open and start giving page time out error...

i am totally confused...is this happening because of the settings not getting saved ? If so...can you please tell me why the settings disppear..

I am total newbie...i am not even sure if i have to enter the settings..in IPV6 or IPV4 ???

any help will be highly appreciated..

Default Re: HFCL DSL + Vista: Problem

Your ISP seems to have set everything correctly in the modem and if you are not able to connect properly and having problems, what prevents you from calling their customer care for resolving it?The problems you are facing may as well be in your ISP's service itself. When you have problems immediately call them and check whether everything is OK with them.
A remote diagnosis and resolution may not be appropriate if you do not give all details. In any case please do the following and then report.Set it to obtain IP address automatically and connect.Open control panel, click on network connections, right click on the local area connection, click on status. In the resulting status box click on support, and note down the IP address,Subnet mask and the Gateway address. These are the ones you should put in the IPv4 properties box. Before doing this you should enter into the modem by typing the gateway address and disable the DHCP server and also set DNS to relay. If you are shaky better not do this and call up your ISP and discuss with them. What ADSL modem are you using?(model number and manufacturer). .
