Default Two OS problems!!!


hi guys i'm getting some weird problem in my winXP sp2
Problem 1)

i'm getting some problem to open certain websites from my PC. Like i can open a website which i use to see my internet account usage, but when i enter login and user name and try to enter the page reloads again. I can open metacafe.com but i don't get search box as well as if i select any category, still it doesn't open the tay category and remains as it is. I tried with firefox with IE tab as well as iE 7 but the same problem persists. I tried by unstalling my antivirus but still it remains same. I don't have any fire wall installed. I tried with windows firewall off but same result.Does anyone has any suggestion.


Problem 2)

Whenever i oprn my search box from start i can open it but doesnt have serch boxes to enter my search. i'm attaching a pic so u get a better idea.
Even folder options doesn't open.

pls help me to solve this problem

1) Um, Have you by any chance disabled JavaScript? It mostly seems like a Javascript Problem.

2) Looks like a Virus problem! Which Antivirus do you use? Norton? If yes, kindly update it to the latest version OR uninstall it and install lastest Kaspersky/NOD32 to scan and remove all the malware.

i have nod32. I scanned the whole PC. deleted all the infections. Still this is happening. Java plugin is enabled.

No No! Not Java Plugin! its JavaScript! (Please don't confuse the two! JS != Java!)

It can be enabled in the Browser Settings.

Since you said you cleaned your infections, then I think some irreversible damaged files have been left back? (i think so).

Better get XP Installation CD and run System File Checker.
Type sfc /scannow in Start-> Run
