6-8 minutes man thats a lota time.
If you are using a pirat*d version then its a common problem. And anyways everybody knows windows keeps on slowing down with time so no rael solution. But you should try defragmenting your HD and do a full system virus scan.

The problem started today only.
today at the morning it was working fine but watching the cricket match it started showing that problem. windows is not all slow, it is just the shutdown time, and yes all that time it does show hd activity, that means some memory access is there and a vigorous one. so help i am going defragment my hd now, let see what happens

The link probably lists most of the factors that can lead to slow shutdown. Quote:

Things to check:
1. Check the disk space in Windows Partition. 2. See the start-up entries for any newly added unusual entry. 3. Make sure that Windows is up-to-date. (Windows Automatic updates) 4. Perform a full scan using a good antivirus software and antispyware software in "safe mode". If problem persists, please post HijackThis log report here for analysis.

I was facing similar problems few months back, tried lot of things like CCleaner, Maxregistry cleaner, scanned the system with different spywares, done hijack this, but none worked. Then i googled and found many facing similar problem, UPHclean seemed to solve the slow shutdown problem.
Earlier my system took around 1min to 1.5min to shutdown, but after i installed the UPHclean it solved my problem, now my system shuts down in less than 5 sec. |
