Vista RC to Vista ultimate

I have Vista RC on my 2nd partition. I want to install Vista ultimate ontop. I know it is better to install on clean partition, but I have info and other stuff I really do not want to backup (lazy, & I don't want to go buy more DVD's). My question is can I install ultimate overtop of RC or will I gett errors, when I am doing update or installing? has anyone tried to install overtop of RC?

I am not sure, but I think I read that Upgrading from RC to RTM was not supported.. hence I feel Vista will not allow upgrade installation to run...

one need to clean install the RTM !!!

But once again, I am not sure... so i suggest just pop the DVD in the drive, and see if its allowing you a upgrade or not...

Once thing is clear, either it will alllow and complate the upgarde without any issue, or it will not proceed to upgrade... as Most drivers for RC1 / RC2 will support RTM without any issue..
