Yes friends, it just booted me in xp in amazing 30 seconds,
I remembered the days when i clean installed xp without any drivers,
It really decreased boot time for me from 2-3 minutes to just 30 seconds!!

I got its info from eBOOk = TweakGuides Tweaking Companion for Xp.

You may first try to see detailed boot loading proccess and detailed charts it creates, to c what is slowing down ur boot.

from trace menu Just click " Optimise System "
let it work after a boot, when it says finish ,just reboot, u wont believe.

1 more important setting to do, especially 4 those who have little speed gain,
after you have optimised ur sysem once with Bootvis,
Do these 2 things,

1. Delete everything in C:\windows\prefetch folder EXCEPT Layout.ini

2. Desable Task schedular service from,
start> run>msconfig>services> Task Schedular Service = uncheck it.

It will also prevent restoring previous state.

Strange, my XP used to boot in 25 seconds flat.

Vista boots in 40 seconds from a cold boot, resume from hibernation in 8 seconds.

Actually it works by reducing driver delays and others oftware realted delays.I have tried this out and when you use it for the first it really makes your pc fast.

^I have heard that you should keep files created in the present week in the prefetch folder,those older than one week should only be deleted.

Its a myth that emptying preftech folder speeds up Windows. Instead it does the reverse.

I dont think it speeds up windows performance , but it definately speeds up boot of windows,

not performance after boot.
