Angry Fatal Blue Screen In Xp

I am describing in very short as the pc can go hay wire gain .I had recently entered a 7 gb pen drive into my pc after whch there was a few second of unresponsive ,a flash of a Blue screen ,and Pc Instantly Rebooted .AVG 7.5 detected a virus in it's autorun file or some thing.

I thought the problem will go along with the Pen drive but yesterday i started to copy a vcd onto my hard drive when that problem occurred agin.next time i reboot the i removed the vcd ,but soon as startup loading was complete again the rebooting occurred.

And the process continued continued .Even when i restored a previous session with help of norton ghost after 5 hrs of working it occurred again and now it is occurring every time i login and the pc run for say 15 minutes.

My system config is core 2 duo e4400,Asus p5mx-wifi AP ,Geforce 8600 GT ,Kingston 1 GB ram ,SEAGATE 160 GB 7200 rpm sata

Some of the messeges that i could read are:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

BIOS UPDATE

The worst thing is i don't know the problem is with Hardware or software as My anti virus always find a virus when it boot up and at that very instant the problem occurs . Please don/t tell me it is a harware problem ,I had purchased it quite recently and if my father come to know about it he goona kill me as he said that it is the last time i am shellling 30 k.

Please help .I cannot log on daily as that boot screen comes after 20 minutes of a new window installation (not installation but restoration )

As a measure i have disabled all anti virus and firewall but this has proved not to be a relief as soon as i click on the antivirus tray icon reboot occurs.

I have found a very very similar screen from net which is about 80% identical to my messages . Here it is :-

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen
restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow
these steps:

Check to be sure you have adequate disk space. If a driver is
identified in the stop message, disable the driver or check
with the manufacturer for driver updates. Try changing video
adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for and BIOS updates. Disable
BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need
to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your
computer press f8 to select Advanced Startup options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Refer to the Error Code and the nature of the issue You can try these steps:

1. Create a Restore point and Uninstall AVG from the computer ( Completely ).
2. Check in device manager that your USB pen drive is indicated there or not.
3. One more thing - Have you done any windows update recently, Remove any new update which has been installed before the problem.
4. Try in clean boot state- Start-Run-Msconfig-Selective startup-Uncheck- Load startup items - Services TAB- Check - Hide all MS services- Disable all- Apply, Restart. and check once u get the desktop check for the error message. if you are not getting any error message then play divide and rule go into msconfig once again and enable all the services then check.. no error message then try enabling all the startup items one by one.
---- Nothing works - Then you need to run a Repair install on the computer------
Best of Luck!!

Default Re: Fatal Blue Screen In Xp

Had suffered the same problem with my3 yrs old comp, someone advised me to use another XP cd for reinstalation.

I originally bought XP-sp1 & it created the same errors, the moment I use to insert my wifi dongle into usb port it use to crash, I did all I could , the vendor even replaced the stick under warranty but he categorically said that the dongle was alright, he showed me it working fine on his XP computer.

I tried updating to SP2 & that too failed & broke my network adapter...................I then got a slipstreamed Cd with XP SP2 built in then onwards I never had such problems.

Red face Re: Fatal Blue Screen In Xp

well i followed speedrider_100 and uninstall ed AVG and the problem stopped ,for added protection i tried to disable startup service but it is saying you need administrator privilege ,though i am an administrator

however i still cannot enter safe mode as it is not loading.

By the way i do not install from xp cd but have a norton ghost image (very recent ) from which copy the image pattern in my primary hard drive .However do you think this may be causing problem./conflict

make a bootable cd from the ghost image & then change the bios "1st boot device as CDrom" it might be set to hdd, then boot from the cd in safe mode.......that should work.

Many autorun viruses do change registry changes thus admin policies are changed without u knowing.

AVG may have detected the virus but the files are still on ur comp they are not deleted.

Go to tools>folder options>view>
enable show hidden files & folder
uncheckhide protected OS files

Now search all root drives including ur usb drive & delete all auto inf files from it........................that should get you rid of this virus.
See if that solves the problem.

STOP 0x0000000A or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

A kernel-mode process or driver attempted to access a memory location without authorization. This Stop error is typically caused by faulty or incompatible hardware or software. The name of the offending device driver often appears in the Stop error and can provide an important clue to solving the problem. If the error message points to a specific device or category of devices, try removing or replacing devices in that category. If this Stop error appears during Setup, suspect an incompatible driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup program. This KB314063 may show you the direction.

READY-RECKONER : Windows 'Stop Errors' or 'The Blue Screen Of Death'

Cool Fatal Blue Screen In Xp

well it may seem stupid but lately when i had this problem i just disembled my whole pc ..rather i was in mood to throw the whole god dam pc apart (you know tear off ) stuff .. the main problem that you faced is that the win32k.sys

this is the main problem often faced by many ..caused by the hardware crash

what i recommend is pull apart the pc if u know how to ..get the processor out and the ram and all the things (how to do is upto u)

clean the connectors and see if things are workig ..also note if u get a error while installing xp (reinstalling if u plan to ) dont do anything ....the problem is solved by cleaning the connectors of processor and the ram

some people migh laugh on the this soultion but this is what i do ...living in scrapyard of computers makes me 24x7 with them with almost as many pcs comming for repairs ..

regards
nixon

May be I understood you wrongly but I for sure AVG cannot treat USB virus, I get infected almost with every new usb drive my friend brings to me & I use AVG, which detect but cannot heal bcoz autorun.inf is system file.

Just check for what I posted, atleast u get rid of that file (autorun.inf & any exe fie in the root of ur drives), when u 1st connect the infected usb a program gets copied to ur drives without u knowing..................so get rid of it, if you dont have it then good.

Which service were u trying to stop & from where?

Could be if the ghost image has Virus in it too.

If u insert a removable drivers this virus runs as autorun without informing when u simply double click on the drive to open it. Fix this & then u can again use AVG Licensed. It happened with me too but I have autorun disabled here.

Smile Re: Fatal Blue Screen In Xp

well good news is that from the day AVG has been uninstall ed i am not experiencing the error but i still am not able to access safe mode and the PC still do not treat me as administrator.

By the way if suppose the autorun.inf file is present how can i find it without using AVG. Also i think the ghost must have the virus as i had prepared it after the inserting The pen drive . It is better I start from scratch.
