Default Help In installing Oracle-PLEASE HELP ME

Hello friends,
I have P4 2.6 GHZ with windows xp sp2
I tried installing oracle 8i enterprise edition
when i click the install oracle in the autorun window,
it disappears and nothing happens.

it is the same case with 9i personal edition.
can any one tell me which version of oracle gets installed in xp +sp2.
and how to install that ...

Oracle 8i is for Windows NT. so it might not run in XP. But u can install Oracle 8 in XP+SP2. I did nt tried 9i on XP.
Better get an Oracle 8 CD.

oracle 9i can be install in windows xp sp2...
go the the cd rom that contain oracle 9i(disk 1)
there will be a folder name install..
in install folder go to win32 folder again...
there is file setup.exe...
just double click there and universal installer 2 will install ur oracle 9i in xp sp2...

hey dude, why u don't go for Oracle 10g. It's pretty good with nice interface 'n lots of utilities.

My observation is that aftr installing Oracle 9i u may experience slowing down of ur PC. Oracle 10g is nice.
