why have my vista desktop icons dissapeared?

for some reason my vista ultimate desktop icons have dissapeared...i am having only 1 account..y is this happening? everything else is normal...i can see the icons wen i go into the C:\users\GandaBerunda\desktop thorough explorer..

u may wan 2 install Tweak UI and use d Rebuild icons option in d Repair tab
