Is there any Danger in installing Bryce 5.5 from Aug DVD

When I went to DAZ Productions site to get Serial Number for Bryce 5.5, I found a popup stuck on the webpage. I Found from the source code that it is to initiate a Hack. The code is either "body onload=initHack();" or Javascript with "dazEvent(window, 'load', initHack);"

I want to know:

What is this Hack?
Is there any harm in running Bryce 5.5 on my PC?
Why this popup is covering the contents of the webpage?
This popup comes on the serial no.
How an ordinary person can read the contents of this page when there is popup?

Use opera and go to that site. it will block the popup, dont click on the popup blocked msg. then continue with the site.

if in case the serial is available from that popup make sure you have a good system security.

but i hope its not dangerous.
