Can you check what all is at startup? Disable aaaltu faaaltu Stuff. Download this utility
http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml

Also, it is better to hibernate then to shutdown in most case. Just press SHIFT KEY at shutdown dialog box and standby will convert to Hibernate

Hibernating is worst. After 2 or 3 hibernates, memory will leak. System can get unstable.

one simple way of reducin boot up time is remove unwanted enters from startup in msconfig, further... download registry mechanic, scan and fix registry, next " compact ur registry ".

Hope these tips would help you

Delete temporary files in temporary files folders {to open enter "temp" and "%temp%" in run dialog box.
Clean your registry by using free softwares like CCleaner/wise registry cleaner or anyone you like.
Defragment your hard disk (especially the one containing windows)
Disable unneccessary service in mscofig.exe or use a software(like winpatrol) which starts a service after a pre specified time(specified by you) after windows starts.
