wen i want to open local disk drive except c it disp. strange msg
"f:/ access is denied" but it opens wen i rite click it & select open.wht shud i do? dont suggest 2 format. plsss help

a friend of mine had a similar prob which got rectified after a throrough virus scan and spyware scan. i suggest u use avg anti-virus and ad-aware anti spyware. both are free and very effective.
if a normal anti-virus scan comes up with nothing, try scanning ur sys when in safe mode

is your drives NTFS..or FAT.
this is a virus problem.TAke ownership in SECURITY tab..

To find security tab:
Right click my computer-->>properties-->>security

In security tab, there is an advanced option. There take ownership .But make sure you are loged as administrator or in administrator's group.

you may not find security tab in properties.To enable security tab:
start-->> my computer-->>tools-->>folder options-->>view-->>scroll down to the bottom of the list and clear Use simple file sharing [Recommended].

done.Now you can see security tab in properties of drives and folder.

arre just run an anti-virus scan

shud detect any mailcious code and ur problem shud b solved

u cud also search for ne autorun.inf dat will b stored as a hidden file and delete it an c if it solves ur problem

That is a virus which comes via usb drives.

This thread should help u, read my post no.8 & post no.20 in that giving the solution.
