Default boot.ini error

Sys config
Windows Xp Pro SP2
Amd Athlon 64 3200+
ASUS A8N - VM
Radeon X1600 PRO
Hitachi Deskstar 80GB SATA HDD

For the past couple of weeks, whenever i boot my sys, after the mobo logo, i get a message - "Boot.ini file error. Booting from c:/windows" Then, it boots just fine
My boot priority is set to HDD -->CD-->Floppy.
Why's this happening?

Maybe the boot.ini is corrupted. Try using the Windows XP setup disk, run Recovery and run the fixboot command as Administrator

Actually boot.ini is a hidden system file. So it can't be open in notepad directly. U have to show system files, then u can see it.

& when u created a NEW boot.ini, it overwrite the original boot.ini
