Unable to burn DVD'S
HI. i'm using WINDOWSXP(SP2) with BENQ DVD combo pack drive, it writes both CD's n DVD's. I'm using nero7. but now i'm fassing a problem.
2day i entered an empty DVD into drive to make a data disc, but nero is not writing the disc. simply it counting time, even the process is not starting(like burn process started at 3.00pm(time)).
then i tried with windowsxp. instead of making a virtual image. its displaying a msg."Windows encountered a problem when trying 2 copythe file xyz".
Then i tried with cd. Its Working with both windows n nero. And also when i tried with written DVD which has no space, windows is able 2 form image. But only empty DVD is not working.
Before the writing process started. I installed VMware software. Then after restarting i tried 2 write a DVD.
Is my Disc is k or not?
Please give me some solution.

Re: Unable to burn DVD'S
Try writing the same file to another disk... if it continues re-install OS, even if it doesn't ur drive may be on its last steps..
BTW.... welcome to forum

Re: Unable to burn DVD'S
@Intel: I know that the most easy way to rectify the problems in Windows is to reinstall the OS but thats not the first move. This is the last resort man.
@Lakshmi: Wait for other people's reply. Somebody will surely help. People are very helpful here.

Re: Unable to burn DVD'S
How did u solve it?
Its difficult to say that windows is the culprit for not creating a image... it might be fault of Nero or the ASPI drivers..

Re: Unable to burn DVD'S
the one u said.
i reinstalled nero7 n now its working. I even starting writing a DVD.
Thanks a lot
But its taking much time. to write a DVD I included all doc files. Thats why so much time. Better 2 write the DVD at 8x speed when we are writimg a dvd with doc files.

Re: Unable to burn DVD'S
Dude
Try these
1. Change your DVD drive's data cable. Also try to use other un-used power cable inside cabinet.
2. Use different brand DVD media to burn DVD.
3. Use different DVD burning software, like Easy media creator, Ashampoo burner.. etc.
4. If all above tries fails, try using ur drive with other pc. If problem persists den its time to repair ur drive. And if planning to buy new one den better go with Sony/Asus/Lite-On.
