Will Windows Vista RULE?
A Qualitative Report Card.

IMPACT OF VISTA.
Globally speaking, well, inspite of Microsofts efforts, there has been confusion on certain fronts. The first being "Why Vista"...

HAS VISTA MET EXPECTATIONS.
Well, Yes and No...

HAS VISTA REALLY INCREASED PRODUCTIVITY OVER XP?
If yes fine. If not is such an expenditure justified against Vista's benefits...

FUTURE OF VISTA.
...Vista will rule, if not for anything, than the sheer fact that people are familiar with Windows...Microsoft wants more and more to get hitched onto their bandwagon... piracy be damned ! Open source is there... but still we dont see any boom on Desktop users using Linux. Mac?... well, too busy catering to their niche 5% market share !

Right now our interest to vista is like the intro to XP years back.

It'll rise slowly... with piracy & companies backin it up.
I wasn't interested to try it out... was happy with my XP. But my new system had Vista Ultimate preinstalled & my interest rose....

Ppl prefer to try new OSs only when they get it free... think Ubuntu...
There r just two major ways Vista gains precedence... the pirate way or the computer-vendor way.
I took the legal way. How many do u suppose 'll buy it... not many... @least not till they lose belief in XP & get better Vista-compatible rigs... new os... new rigs... who wants to do double damage to himself.

Vista rigs(& not Vista itself) will be bought by those who r looking for a new premium-range rig right now.

I am gonna purchase my first laptop quite soon and it comes pre-loaded with Vista for which I am unable to scrap the OS and instead get a OS-less laptop.... So eventually I ll start using Vista....

There are many other ppl like me who will be doing the same (for a desktop may be) and finally when MS stops selling XP, the rest also will have to only use Vista....

Of course it will take quite a lot of time...

May be u late on that news that MS stoped Shiping Windows XP to System builders...

and on process of stoping the Windows XP Retails/OEMs
