Smile Vista 2 GB Vs 4 GB

Right now i have 2 X 1 Gb DDR 2 Ram (Dual Channel )overclocked by increasing FSB Mhz and Volt 1.9 running on Vista .
I wanted to know how much difference will adding another 2 GB Ram make to it.
Should i go for it , or skip it as it wouldn't make any real time difference?

1 GB is enough

2 GB is perfect

4 GB is overkill & not required right now.

Depends on what you do on the computer actually and whether you are experiencing any slowness.

And if in doubt, I do believe that an investment in RAM is never wasted because the more the RAM, the better a computer performs. I was reading an article on how to speed up XP (quite a while ago) and the author had listed nine useful tips. In the last tip, he wrote, "10. Screw the other tips, spend a little cash and feed the bugger more RAM. It will fly." I am not sure this was the exact sentence but you get the gist. And I tend to agree with that opinion.
Even if you don't need it right now, more RAM will only help you once you install a lot of applications and run them together.

But I heard 32 bit application cannot utilize more than 3.5 GB!

I have been using 2GB for nearly 2 years and the RAM utilization is ~500MB only, but I have disabled the virtual memory. (XP)

They can, some time not by default, as in those rare cases one may need to use PAE Switch....

^^^^

Well I would say even at Games too, when u have a Getter Dedicated cards like 8600+ u wont see any difference with 4GB I have 4GB, for OverClocking purpose I poped 2 out out of the Box , and relly no difference in 2GB or 4GB whats so ever

but yeah, one stuff really helps with 4GB thats Virtualization... its damn easy to run 4/5 instance of Virtual OSes, on VPC or VMware

2 GB RAM in enuf according to me , and you can run your system quite well even while virtualizing(1 OS only) in Vista
