As far as i know no version of windows ever conatined any office bundled wid it. U vl have to buy MS OFFICE or try using freeware OPEN OFFICE or contact ur computer seller for help.

no..MS Office is not bundled with Win98SE (or for that matter any other Windows OS!), may be ur computer dealer installed it!
u better ask ur computer dealer again!!

one question, did u reinstalled Win98SE after FORMATTING the Hard disk or simply above the old Win98SE ?

if u have installed Win98SE over ther old one without formatting (erasing) it, then u will experience problems with some softwares...

A dirty install is one the surest ways of making a system run worse than it already was. Your best bet is to do a complete format and then do a clean install and restore your programs. If you want to go ahead with the format option, there's a couple of things you need to do, including backing up important data and settings to another drive, checking which hardware and drivers you have installed in your computer and making a note of which driver CDs/floppies you have, making a note of all installed programs, etc. If you want to go ahead with this, let us know and we will guide you through the process.

if u install Win98 over the older one, with the Softwares installed, then u can not run some of them in new Win98, because some of the registry entries or soem configuraton files will get altered....
so, if u r going to install an OS over an OS without formatting, then u have to uninstall all the softwares and then install the OS....even this is the right way, but it's better than directly installing...

BTW, swatkat, it looks like all the four problems he's posted in this section seem to stem from the corrupted Win98SE install. Just a thought. Maybe he does need a clean install. Something's terribly wrong at the OS level and methinks that it would be a great timesaver for him if he was to just back everything up and reinstall Windows clean.

well...if u r having problems with Windows Programs like WordPd, NotePad etc.... then u can do this,
Go to Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs, click the "Windows Setup" tab, here UNCHECK all (except System Tools) the main entries amd click Apply. The Restart, after this restart, and then open the same tab, and CHECK all the entries and click Apply, it asks for the Win98 Setup files, u give the path of ur Setup files in Hard disk......
