sony DVD writer

i purchased sony DVD writer i think its 830A or some thing like that 4-5 months back.
i did not face any problems reading cd's , dvd's or burning them.
recently some of the dvd's burned at my friends are not being read by my rom
it shows as an empty which are working some where else.
But i am able to read other cd's dvd's.

first i thought it was cause of the buring speeds or some thing like that.
but it does not add up.
please help.

what software r u using to burn the CD's and are you finalizing the cds, ore leaving them open to burn more data later.

if u r using NERO @ ur friend's place 2 burn d DVDs then enable disk verification option b4 u burn anymore disks. d fact dat u r able 2 read disks burnt elsewhere means dat d problem has something 2 do with d burn process used ur friends place

i dont think dat enabling multi-session option shud cause problem with reading disks, esp if d drive is 4-5 onths old
