Go to Start>Run and type in msconfig
and on the window that opens up, go to the Startup tab and uncheck the programs that you don't want to load at startup. Be careful you don't uncheck that's actually necessary.Face it, kid! Provoking a reaction isn't the same thing as saying something significant - Calvin

I like this one better ..
Start > Run > Regedit <Press Enter>
Navigate to
HKLM \ Softwares \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
HKLM \ Softwares \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ RunServices
HKCU \ Softwares \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run
HKCU \ Softwares \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ RunServices
Delete the entries that you dont want ..
(Added the Current User list in Edit)Sleight of hand and twist of fate...
On a bed of nails she makes me wait...
And I wait without you ...
With or without you ..

Yeah, but then what happens if he doesnt know what he's deleting and ends up deleting some important app that he wants loading every single time, like the graphics card control panel, etc. At least with msconfig, you can re-check the ones you want if you make a mistake.

try the startup tab in start-> programs -> startup or follow the msconfig .
But doing that in msconfig will lead u to a selective startup and that will shoot warnings on ur screen every time u boot .From the body of one guilty deed a thousand ghostly fears and haunting thoughts proceed !

Something even better than msconfig is called 'Startup'. Do a google search for it and download. I can't remember where I downloaded it from. BTW, it is free!
It gets installed into the Control Panel and offers more control over startup apps.
