Go to Start>Run and type in msconfig
and on the window that opens up, go to the Startup tab and uncheck the programs that you don't want to load at startup. Be careful you don't uncheck that's actually necessary.

Yeah, but then what happens if he doesnt know what he's deleting and ends up deleting some important app that he wants loading every single time, like the graphics card control panel, etc. At least with msconfig, you can re-check the ones you want if you make a mistake.

try the startup tab in start-> programs -> startup or follow the msconfig .

But doing that in msconfig will lead u to a selective startup and that will shoot warnings on ur screen every time u boot .

Something even better than msconfig is called 'Startup'. Do a google search for it and download. I can't remember where I downloaded it from. BTW, it is free!

It gets installed into the Control Panel and offers more control over startup apps.
