you need to mention the error msg. otherwise its very difficult to find the cause of the problem.

i've installed Win XP on a rig with PIII 350 MHz 92 MB RAM and a 20 GB HDD
tho it took longer than 25 mins it is runnin fine [ya sum1 still uses it]

and d first comp I got in 98 had a PII 266 MHz with 64 MB SDRAM and a 4.3 GB HDD
installed 98 on it worked like a charm

as 4 u tellin him 233MHz is needed u shud no dat clock speeds of even 386s ver measured in MHz, ven d celeron series was not even on d distant horizon [celeron series ver introduced wit PII slot-based processors]

EDIT

@ abhijangda & koolbluez

plz read d previuos posts b4 postin. d guy has already solved his problem

cd might b corrupted.. or ur hardware might have screwed up... i think the installation's possible somehow... whatever minimum specs a system should have.
If not.. @least a message shoulda come.
These min specs requirements r essential primarily for some software only.. esp games... with the graphics card... not OSes... to my knowledge.
