System root./Windows/System 32/AuotCheck.exe not found. Stopping auto check

The following message has been appearing after i deleted a string related to scan disk in registry. How can i get back to run scan disk automatically after every system start whenever there is a error.

Smile Re: Scan Disk

do this :

all you have to do is find out which Drive your having the problem on (conicider D) and then go to RUN and type:

>chkdsk D: /r

*Note replace the D with whichever letter yours is

then when it asks you yes or no say YES

And everythings will be fixed

hope this will help

if u r having windows XP try this :

edit the scandisk.ini file in your \Windows\Command folder. When scandisk

gets run automatically after an improper shutdown, it uses the /custom

option which reads the settings from the scandisk.ini file. This file is well

documented. Read through it to see how to customize scandisk.

i think u need to change in below mentioned part THIS is from scandisk.ini file

change ur accordingly
Quote:
[CUSTOM]
DriveSummary = Off ; Auto, On, Off
AllSummary = Off ; Auto, On, Off
Surface = Never ; Never, Always, Prompt
CheckHost = Always ; Never, Always, Prompt
SaveLog = Append ; Off, Append, Overwrite
Undo = Never ; Prompt, Never

if windows 98 try :

Change the setting in your MSDOS.SYS file:

Under [options]

AUTOSCAN=0

disable automatic scandisk.

AUTOSCAN=1

automatic scandisk, preceded by the error message (default)

AUTOSCAN=2

automatic scandisk with no error message.

hope this will help
