XP corrupted

I get the following error message when Xp starts.

svchost.exe error

The exception unknown software expection(0x0000409) occured in the application at loaction 0x751b3b3d

My theme got kaput, most items in control panel not working, cant open system restore function and at last sound cardv driver got lost.

try sfc /scannow, run some AV & spyware detector. download hijackthis! paste log file here, and we'll get back to ya. your definatly infected hence why Satyamy suggested reinstall (it's easy way out)

Dude type the followin in run dialog

sfc /scannow

And also insert Windows Xp cd in ur cd Drive

If this dosent helps uninstall ur sound driver and then install it again .

so how did it go? not sure what uninstalling/reinstalling sound driver would do? did u run hijackthis

sfc /scannow with the xp cd in the drive can solve the problem as far i think

if tht doesnt work do a repair install
i.e. press R when the setup shows ur installed version of XP in the drive u installed it.

try to go into safe mode or if that doesn't work then try to get to ur closest restore point. every time u install something it makes a restore point
