Default Is this chipset supported?

Does Vista support 865G chipset of Intel?
Can anybody give me the link for its WDDM driver?
Can I run Vista with this chipset without buying a graphics card?

Am running Vista on an 865GBF, but with a GeForce 7600GT

I think you can run Vista on it, sans the AERO, but am just guessing, cause till date I've never tried my onboard graphics. I ran Vista on the same board with an MX4000 before this. And it worked well, without AERO.

yeah I think what iceeeeman meant was that the integrated video would not work. mostr integrated video chips will not work with VISTA except newer more recent boards.

Certainly, The older onboard Graphics solution can't deliver for Vista's requirements. Consider the newest 690G chipset from AMD which are Vista Premium Ready.

@author: get your hands on some newer graphics card if you want to get the experience of the newer AERO interface.

PS: I consider that Vista Aero is the only thing that is pulling ppl to use it, Otherwise there is nothing good in it, Wat say..?

does it detect ur graphics as intel 845 or as standard garphics adaptor . the latter will cause high cpu usage ( like wat xp does even when u drag a window when u still havent installed drivers ) .

^^ . do u have hi def audio . if its ac97 , its unlikely to be supported in vista .
here are the drivers for xp . try them on vista , i am not saying they will work , just try ur luck.

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/T8Cl...=6816&lang=eng

my previous mobo asrock had ac97 audio and in vista they said that 2 speakers can be used although it aint high def..

the below link gives u realtek ac97 drivers offered by askrock
