Unhappy Help me geeks...!


I can't edit ne of my system files...
I mean...dey get edited easily by Resource Hacker bt i m nt able to save them....
Each time i try to save dem....an error msg pops out saying....
"Cannot create <system file>" (where system file resembles the system file being saved)

Hope i'll get the answer to my question....!
I can see lots of geeks ovr here...so plzz help me..!

Is it that the file is in use?Try copy-pasting the file to a diff location and then editing the copy.

Firstly u shld b admin for editing system files.

Secondly copy original files to another location. Then edit them. And Over write on original. DON'T EDIT SYSTEM FILES AS THEY ARE !!!

Question @^

yes, the file is in use. but i can't find the process which is using it..!
I even tried to copy the edited file in d original location in Safe Mode with command prompt...bt still it said that the file is in use..!

For example i edited the msgina.dll....
It got saved once but after that dat error started..!

plzz Help me..!

Try doing it "offline"..eg boot from a win98 cd and then copy the edited file to the original location.
But whatever you do,save a copy of the original file,to recover in case you mess it up.

Thumbs up I got the solution..!

I got the solution accidently....
Actully wat ws happening is OS ws creating another system file with name
<system file name>_original.<extension> Where system file name represents the file edited...
'coz of dis only.....the file ws nt getting saved..
Once i deleted it.....
Saving process ws successful..!
