opera yahoo messenger connection error pls help

hi..i recently formatted my laptop whcih i had been using opera and yahoo...now after re installing im not able to browse with opera or use yahoo messenger...i use a wireless net connection through netgear in a broadban..i can still browse using ie and mozilla...what could be the solution..i havent tampered with the ip addresses at all...pls help..i'm a opera fan...and i need yahoo...

what firewall you use?

most probably the f/w is blockin both of them.
