This what I ge when the computer boots,...

I tried Ulitmate boot cd ... how to use it I don't know?
The computer is not even booting any of the live distros
not even XP vista ... and other distros packed with UBCD...


The histroy says that one day I got an error message on blue screen
" Beginning the dump of physical memory"

after that PC shuts down and never .....ever started again.


This message I has been knocking the HDD since I let it on for a night to download UBUNTU.... after that 3 times I have got this message.. and was forced to send to compaq office.. but since the warranty is over I don't wish to spend extra bugs on it.. is there any way out?

I think it might be

NTLDR missing
press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to continue

In this case file NTLDR (called NT Loader) has been deleted or renamed.

Do a google search "boot MBR missing" and check whether you are able to get any solutions.This is the only solution I can suggest.

I don't know if this might in anyway be related with the problem i faced recently but just wanted to mention that the fixmbr command through recovery console got me out of a similar problem......Mine was the l99 thing though that came with linux un-installation.....

windows is NOT GETTING INSTALLED.....it stucks in between....

and about live CD's like ubuntu...knopix.....slackware..I tried everything but....
sometimes it gives DISK READ ERROR...sometimes.....ATTEMPT TO KILL KERNEL something like that...

and finally without booting I get either ERROR LOADING OS....after several tries.....or ....BOOTMBR Missing....

its either virus or cd/dvd is corrupt or change ur drive ...........

yeah I agree with AX3, are you upgradding from XP? or did you format before installing.

RAM and HDD are dead...visited Nehru Place today.
GOT new 512mb kingston DDR1 for Rs 2200
and western digital HDD 80 GB for Rs 2300 for a laptop..don't mistake.
