audio doesnt play in movies
Hello,
I cant hear any sound in any of the movies ( both in real player and windows media player ) . i can hear windows sounds and songs ( thru both winamp and windows media player ) . i cant hear sound from any dvd movie . and when i access cyberlink pwerdvd , it crashes immediately . how do i solve this prob

check ur audio driver. reinstall it from ur driver cd.

wat format is the movie file?
any codec pack installed?
install K-Lite Codec pack & see if that solves the problm.

play it in VLC Player http://www.videolan.org/ , if this doesn't work then most probably anything else won't

my cousin had similar problem, movie playn but no Audio.
it gotsolved when K-Lite was installed

hey , it works on vlc player !!!! (i get audio ) but not on any other ( windows media player , power DVD fails to run itself , Real Player ) .This problem seems to be restricted to audio playback only in dvd's. plz help.

hey i dint see that post. ok i'll get k-lite .
a free solution perhaps . .
and i observed that sometimes ( very rarely ) , winamp while playing gives a pause of less than a second and continues... anything related..
yes !! i got k-lite codec pack for free !!!

K-lite codec pack is the best collection of codecs , VLC has codecs bundled with it but that's not the case with other media players so u need to install codecs(through K-Lite or by hand) n then all players will be able to play the files .

i mean, if da video was playin fine n audio was nt.
den it must hav been sum prob wid audio codecs!

n generally only very popular codecs like mp3 are used for audio, den y da matter was solved with installation of codec pack!
was there any conflict among codecs also?

Yes there can be conflicts between audio codecs ( AFAIK) but K-Lite pack repair registry at installation time so any broken codecs are also fixed.

yups .
@ashfame , n it's not necessary that popular codecs r only used to encode audio , also , file might be wrongly encoded and the default decoder might not be able to decode it correctly 
nyways k-Lite pack will solve 99% of the problems n this is one of the first apps i install after a fresh installation of OS .
