Default dvd writin takes 45 min @ 16X.. pls help


hey guys i hav dis samsung dvd writer... samsung R/RW ..
n wen i write dvd's it shws its writin @ 16X but the dvd takes a total of 45 min to burn.. y is dis happenin.. ?
@ my frrnds plce we tried burnin the sme thng on a moser baer dvd .. v burnt it @ 16X n his gt completed in 15 min max.. ( v hav the sme writer.. v got it together.. )
n in the nero drive speed the read speed for the dvd is 12X and spin down time is 2 min..
plsssss help// wats the pblm..
i have nero 7.8.5 instaled an ma system/.

It might be an issue with the drive's DMA. Those are pretty common with problems of long times like these.

assuming u r using nero burning rom
enable "cache files smaller than 64 KB" under "Misc" tab in "New Compilation" window.

this will copy only smaller files to c: drive cache directory of nero, while the bigger files will be directly picked from their original locations at the time of burning. For being on safer side don't run heavy s/w's while burning. Fragmented files on HDD may end up in buffer underrun problem, if CPU is too busy.

Try resetting the DMA. Use this tool: DMA Reset

actualy the dma wasnt getin enabled earlier on.. bt aftr i used dis tool for resttin ,, it works..
n it saves a lot of time.. thx luky_star..
