Cool Cant open MS-config / regedit !!!


Im not able to open up MSconfig or regedit in my win xp computer.
If i type in run,it opens up in notepad..
where some symbols are only found.

Im not able to find the original verison of msconfig or regedit...
I tried to check for file changes using chkdsk command..
it didnt find any errors..

wat to do for this prob/
???

Try System File Checker

Insert Original XP CD and type "sfc /scannow"(without qoutes) in Start->Run

sfc /scannow should find you're problem, but it sounds like you maybe infected with "crapware", I had the same issue, and yeah SFC fixed it until I rebooted (I was still connected to the internet, didn't help until I ran a scan for threats.... I first ran Norton 07, found nothing as always, then went to ewido.net and used their online scanner, fixed my issue!, hope that helps. (also I noticed before I ran scan that their was a regedit.com and and a regedit.exe, obviously one was some sort of crapware)
