Default admin has set policies to prevent this installation


I have not set any & I am signed in as admin with full previlages then why cant I uninstall & reinstall certain application.
This is happening with applications which is using msi installer

what os are you using? Win XP Pro or Win XP Home or Win Vista (which flavour?)

Please inform whether you have av and antispyware running on your system updated...

Can you run gpedit.msc?

Using XP-pro-sp2
using avg antivirus & spyware
I can run gpedit.msc

Give some examples of apps that u r not able to install/uninstall...

Lots of apps now come with msi packages....

How many users are there in your Windows?If there are more than one then install these applications in Admin user only.

There are only 2 user
admin & ranjan both have admin rights.

I solved the problem by checking each policies by running gpedit.msc.

For some strange reason windows installer options was turned off & that was preventing the installation.
Thanks all for helping & sorting out this problem.
