How to Install win xp on vistaos laptop

Hi All,
I purchased new compaq v3000 Laptop, in this i got with vista os,but i want install in this win xp how can i proceed.How i manage both vista and xp os.If any one know reply me detailed procedure.

First install XP and after installing it u'll not be able to boot into Vista coz Vista boot loader will be overwritten by XP.
No problem, just boot using Vista Setup DVD and u'll get an option to repair the installation. Thats it.

but vishal idid not face any such problem ... wen i installed vista ... it gave me 2 options:

old os
vista
