yes, VMware is there !! but there is some problem, as there will many of us shareing the same VHD of the running os (incl programs) between us, and for some comercial reason !! so, VMware is then a paid product where as, VPC 2007 is a free were !!!

Thats what I figured out after pulling my hair & reading on the web.
I want to have XP x64 as guest OS with x64 Vista as host.

Apart from VMware what else are the options available?

I looked at Parallels but that too is not x64 compatible yet.

I am not sure if It does support x64 windows XP/Vista as host yet.
http://tinyurl.com/4mbg6l
on the above link it shows as windows (AMD64) is that the one? will it work with Intel hardware?

UPDATE

I Downloaded & installed the AMD64 version assuming that it might work (My processor is Intel). It installed fine on Intel/Vista x64 but when I want to install XP x64 I get the following error.

Do I need to install x86 version?
will it let me install XP x64?

You can try VirtualBox by Sun Micro
I've been using it on my 64bit PC and have no issues

Why don't you try and see if Virtual Box or QEmu work ?
I am sure they will.

I dont know much about ur problem but what application are not supported on Vista x64?

I haven't come across any, undr x64 you can install most 32 bit application & they will be installed under Program Files(x86)
