i got a MS Win XP SP2 CD ---original..........
plz tell me is thr ne kinda limit on the no. of computers on which i install this OS and activate it???

I already did, it depends upon the License but most likely it would be Single User therefore you can install on only one PC and Activate it

You can install on only one PC only. This can be read from the license agreement.

Yes, offcourse. When you will reinstall on the same pc you have to reactivate it, but there are still number of times AFAIk but i can be wrong.

u can activate it for AROUND upto 10 times on any ONE pc at ONE time.
after that u have to contact/phone personally for activating ur copy.

this licensing thing makes XP different than Win 98, good old days when all you needed was a cd. this is why government institutions are finding it hard to pay for XP in govt. office.

Hey U can activate this as many times and in as many Pc U wish But the condition is it should be in one PC at a time.if u break this condition then there will be piracy issue.

yes if you got it with your comp and it is oem version then you can only install it on one comp.

actually winXP checks for hardware components to check whether it is being installed in some other pc, except ram and removable drives . it records harddisk number and motherboard IDs and send it to microsoft. so hardware chang like this will definitely affect licensing.
