Default Replacement for msconfig

We use "msconfig" command in XP to disable the start up option(i.e, for selective startup

But "msconfig" doesn't work in Win2000 then what should I use.
Plz tell

You have two choices to do it in Windows 2000 viz.

Installing MSCONFIG file in Windows 2000.

1. Download: msconfig.exe

2. Copy it to X:\WINNT\system32 folder of Windows 2000

3. Now it's same as start>Run>msconfig !

OR

Using Startup Control Panel
Quote:
Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts. It's simple to use and, like all my programs, it's very small and won't burden your system. A valuable tool for system administrators!
Startup Control Panel is compatible with all modern versions of Windows through Windows XP. Windows Vista, after all these years, finally has a very good startup manager built-in; go to Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools, and then click on Manage Startup Programs on the left.
1. Download and install Startup Control Panel 2.8

2. Manage the startup options.

Utility Source

Enjoy!

If I remember correctly, the Startup Control Panel is also available in AutoPatcher...

But msconfig is more powerful because it includes editing boot options, etc...
