well if someone can read it then he can copy it too , there's not much you can do .

These work for Audio CDs/Movie DVDs/Games (to some extent)..... And most of these protective techniques are patented ones.... So you can't use em without legal infringements

What kind of data do you want to protect from copying?

Rar the Files using WinRAR and give them a pwd and then copy it on to the CD!

^^^ That statement doesn't mean that he intends to deny access to the files, does it ?

If you allow access to view the files in the first place, that means you'll have to give away the password... Where is the protection then ?
