Smile don't want system volume information

when i was running low on disk space in one of my drives(not were my OS windows xp was installed) i deleted a lot of data in the hidden folder -System Volume Information.those files seemed just copies of what were already there on the drive and some files were those i deleted permenantly from that drive. Is there any problem in deleting files from this folder?(I haven't experienced anything yet now).
The problem is :when i restart the pc,the files i have deleted appear again and take abt 2GB of space in the drive.i deleted 2or3 times.they come again.is there a way to delete them permenantly...????

Well. Do you know XP has a System Restore feature?

What it actually does is restore your computer to a earlier state in case of any problem.

These folders you are talking about are created by System Restore service.
If you delete them you wont be able to reverse the system to its back state.
(In short this folder has backup of some important system or non-system files.)

If you really want to stop system restore sevice (or delete these folders.)
Right Click on My computer,
Click Properties,
Go to system resore Tab,
Click - Turn off System Restore on all drives.
Then Delete those folders.
Done...

My Recomendation : Dont stop system restore service. Or delete these folders. They will take space but its worth it...

Only turning it on wont mean that u get ur space back

Use Disk Clean up to delete the previous saved restore points...
