Question Pagefile query

I hav two hd: 80+40 GB. My OS is on one of the partitions of my 80GB hd and i hav kept paging file on the other hd. Is this recommended?

Also is it recommended to keep a paging file(atleast a small one) on the partition dat contains the OS?

If the second hard disk is as fast as the first, it is better to keep the pagefile in it... It is not necessary to create a pagefile on the first partition...

yup as sakumar said, Page file should be set on other HDD(if its as fast as 1st one).

How can I fix "too little virtual memory" in Windows?

To see which application uses most of "Virtual Memory" then do the following.

=>Hit Control-Alt-Delete to bring up Task Manager

=>Go to the Processes tab in Task Manager.

=>Click View, Select Columns

Check the Virtual Memory Size box, as circled in the screen shot below and click OK.

=>Now you have a VM Size column in your Processes tab. Click the top of the VM Size column (as circled below) twice to arrange the processes by their VM Size from largest to smallest.

Wink Re: Pagefile query

Thanx guys. I just thought of asking this question coz i use the defragmenter called diskeeper and in its settings it says "Microsoft recommends that u keep atleast a small paging file on ur partition containing the OS".
