Default help me play these video files......

hi i have 2 video files one is in mpg format and other is avi format.both of them are not running.
the mpg format movie runs for a few seconds and then hangs.when i put the slider to another position it just runs till the end.i used gspot and it said it was a video cd format.it did not gave any errors.i think it only checks a file for codec information and it does not tell if the file is working or not.
the avi file does not play at all.when i used gspot on this file it said not a valid avi file.so i renamed it to various formats like mpg, mov, vob etc but no use.

i have tried players like vlc, bsplayer win media player classic etc.
i have codec pack installed.
alll other files of all kinds of codecs play well except these two.
what cud be the problem.?
is there a sftwr which can fix such files???

probably d files are corrupted. For the mpeg file try to rip it to avi using vdub. Even if u r not able to rip it vdub will tell u wat is wrong wit d file.

For d avi also try to open it in vdub. also ter is a tool called avifix tat comes bundled in the k-lite codec pack. try it out

Well I guess your friend or you copied it from a CD and then converted it through VCD Cutter.
I think the original files were cxurrupted so u cant get them right now...

Smile Check your videos and codecs....

Hi,

I suggest you just check your two video files using G-Spot software.

This is a s/w which would tell you the type of codecs required to run the video and also that whether they are installed on your system. If G-Spot fails to recognise your video file, then it probably is corrupt. Which is the most probable case as you say rest of the videos run fine on your system.

You can get the G-Spot s/w from here :

All the best.
