Unhappy How to delete windows vista files and folders without formatting??

I just want to delete a windows vista install folder in which vista did no install correctly. However i don't want to format that partition. Can anyone suggest a good freeware software to delete the folder and/or files.I am currently using a successful install of vista on another partition.

I thought you were writing a tutorial and came here to suggest you to post it in the tut section...

Anyways, this happened to me once and I had figured out how to do it... But i have forgotten this with time...

Formatting the partition containing Vista is always the easy option, but if you dont want to format, you can look thru google if you want...

I dont remember pretty well, but it is something like this:
(hope you have Vista still running and trial period has not expired)
Take Ownership of the file... instead of giving ownership to Trusted Installer.. And apply this to all subfolders as well....

Now boot into XP and delete the files...

I think there's another way too, but havent tried. Tell me if it works:

Boot into computer with NTFS Dos Reader (Professional Version with Write Support, Commercial) and try to delete the files (If the partition is NTFS of course)...
