How to remove the icons from the quick launch bar?

Just right-click and delete if you want to remove only the icon.. If you want to remove the entire quick launch bar, again right-click somewhere in the tool bar, and go to toolbars >>> uncheck the quick launch entry..

no, not quick launch i want to remove the icons from the bar which is extreme right down while facing the comp.

what you mean is system tray (where the clock is situated). right click on the task bar then click customise, then select whichever icons you want to hide.

Run msconfig and remove all unwanted programs from starup tab.

Are you using softwares like WindowBlinds,Style XP ?

Can u post the picture of your taskbar ?
