What is this question doing under Tutorials ? Anyway here are the advantages

1.Ability to provide File and Folder Permissions based on User Credentials
2.File Compression for the entire partition
3.File Encryption
4.Ability to index files using Indexing Service

Your 5th Point is wrong buddy
Even Windows NT/2000/XP support NTFS
NTFS Version changed from 4.0 to 5.0 in Windows XP

i think buddy he means that Vista only supports NTFS and not FAT32... but thats also not true .. vista can read FAT32 partitions, but cant get installed on it.. while ExFAT or (extended FAT) partitions are into beta phase which we are testing , and Vista supports that.. so you will get it as a FAT derivative in some time...

Don't convert using convert command from DOS mode or Command mode.
if you want to do it then format it into NTFS format.

Ya. He's correct.

--------------------------

NTFS gives advanced file and folder perms with greater virus security as most people use FAT32 so, most viruses are designed for FAT32.

That is, if you have a back-up of your data already. Formatting will erase your whole drive, in case you did not know that. If you did, skip this post (but I guess you've read it already ).

@Arya

You do not need to format your partition for converting it to NTFS from FAT32

When MS has given its own App to do so, what's the need for 3rd party app?

There are always chances of losing your data no matter which method you use. So better keep backup of your imp files/folders

LOL!!!!

d primary purpose of formatting is to erase data (among other things)

wo format hi kya jisne data erase nahin kiya

but i got wat u want
if i have not mistaken u wan 2 convert d file system from FAT/32 to NTFS

u can easily accomplish this runing d convert.exe file

How to use Convert.exe to convert a partition to the NTFS file system

if u need a KISS instruction den do this
open Command Prompt

and den type this out
Code:
CONVERT [driveletter]: /FS:NTFS
but remember dat this process is one-way
u can convert ne File system into NTFS w/o losing data but d revrese is not possible

also BACKUP UR DATA B4 STARTIN
