no just boot from windows XP cd and press R for repair... and then give the commands.. :

BOOTCFG /Rebuild

and the restart.... you are done.. then only your windows XP will start.. now just format the partition in which your VISTA was installed...

hey thnx guys for the reply.....

but i used another method...and it worked like a charm...

i used the bootsect.exe in the vista dvd..

i.e. type this command in winxp start->run dialog--

i:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force

i is ur DVD drive....

and then restart.....the boot loader will be gone...
and then format the vitsa partition...and delete boot.bak and bootsect.bak
from root drive...
